Fleetwood WA Wins at the 2025 Smart Building Industry Awards

Fleetwood wins Smart Building Industry Award 2025 in the category of Excellence in Residential Prefabricated Building – Resilient/Emergency Housing. The Prefab Aus award recognised our Safe Spaces Karratha project, delivered in partnership with The Salvation Army, City of Karratha, Lanigan Architects, and CDI Group (Project Manager Alan West).

The Safe Spaces Karratha facility provides emergency accommodation for women and children experiencing family violence. Built with 38 prefabricated modules in our Perth factory and installed on site in just 28 days, the project demonstrates how modular construction can deliver safe, culturally sensitive and urgently needed housing for regional WA communities.

The design achieved a Silver Rating under the Liveable Housing Design Guidelines and included sustainable features such as recyclable transport wraps and micro-pile footings to reduce environmental impact.

Why Fleetwood Wins Smart Building Industry Award 2025

This award reflects not only the technical excellence of the Safe Spaces Karratha project but also its lasting community impact. It shows how modular innovation delivers resilient, sustainable, and socially meaningful outcomes for Western Australia.
