Springfield Central State School

Double-storey facility with walkways, ramps and stairs

Overview

Fleetwood was contracted to supply and install a new double storey modular building at Springfield Central State School in Queensland for the Department of Education. The project saw the building situated next to existing buildings with covered walkways, ramps and stairs delivered as part of the scope of works, which connected the building to existing walkways and ramps for easy access to a range of facilities on campus.

Solution

Fleetwood’s role was to deliver a full turnkey solution, which specifically included a new double storey permanent modular building (10 module, 360m2), which was located strategically near existing buildings and walkways. Further works included a second storey covered decking, ramp and pathways allowing for safe access between the new facility and existing buildings on campus.

Benefits

The advantages of delivering a modular solution is eminent as shown with the ability to deliver an entire structure over just a few days and have it operational in a fraction of the time of a traditional build. Upgrading from outdated legacy buildings to a specifically designed education building was a major benefit for the school who required these facilities to allow for the future growth of the campus. The portable design has an added aesthetic with a unique façade allowing for privacy and protection from the elements.
